Jennifer McLaughlin joined Atlas Consumer Law in September 2020. Jennifer passionately represents consumers in claims related to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other consumer protection statutes.
Jennifer attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she attained her Bachelor's in English a semester early in December 2002 and was on the Dean's List 4 of her 7 semesters. Jennifer graduated from The John Marshall Law School in January 2014, where she was on the Dean's List twice, gaining access to become a member of Phi Delta Phi. Jennifer attended law school at night while working full-time outside of the industry.
After law school, Jennifer focused on bankruptcy, filing hundreds of cases for consumers under the protection of Chapters 7 and 13. Jennifer also previously handled landlord/tenant in Chicago under the Residential Landlord/Tenant Ordinance and represented consumers in credit card defense cases.
Outside of work, Jennifer is a single mom to 2 beautiful girls and 2 cuddly cats. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and enjoys crafts such as knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching.
